Cantonese Language Class

Lingo is an official test centre

As an official test centre for MCYS and MFA officers, we take pride in ensuring the quality of our courses and assessments. With this expertise, we can deliver a comprehensive program that enables individuals to master the Cantonese language.

Small group classes

We limit group sizes to a maximum of 8 participants to ensure the quality of our Cantonese classes. When classes are small enough to facilitate individual student-teacher interaction, a minor miracle occurs: teachers teach, and students learn.

Centralised location

Our Cantonese language classes are conducted at United House, which is centrally located and accessible. It is just a 6-minute walk from Dhoby Ghaut or Somerset MRT station.

The only Cantonese class that focus on the intricacies of two distinct group of people

Non Chinese

We emphasize the nuances of the Cantonese language and the culture of Chinese speakers. We assume nothing and teach everything—focusing less on character recognition and more on explaining the fundamentals of the language.

Chinese

This group will primarily learn through listening and speaking. While participants can read and write, they may struggle with pronunciation in Cantonese. We will focus directly on teaching vocabulary and pronunciation. This fast-paced class is designed to give Chinese learners a quick introduction to Cantonese.

There is a Cantonese class for you

At Lingo, we offer online and in-person Cantonese language classes in a hybrid format that combines both in one class. Students can attend Cantonese classes at our centre or participate via Zoom.

Group class starts at S$300 for 18 hours.

Private class starts at S$70/hour.

Five progressive levels

There are more people speaking Cantonese as a dialect

Persian, with an estimated 54 million speakers, is an official language in Afghanistan, Iran, and Tajikistan. Korean should have around 71 million native speakers, so if you include people speaking the Yuehai dialects in your calculations, Cantonese, a single variant of Chinese, has more speakers at 85.5 million
